This Tuesday, Adam guest stars in NCIS:LA with Chris O Donnell, LL Cool J and Daniela Ruah in Season 4 Episode 13,“The Chosen One”. Adam plays Jamal Avlurov, the leader of a Chechnyan jihadist splinter cell operating out of downtown Los Angeles. “This was a very rewarding part to play - a lot of work went into it; I had to learn to speak some Russian and Chechnyan, as well as getting to grips with the Chechnyan dialect. I was also excited to learn some of the finer points of the Islamic prayer ritual,” he said. “Of course, most of my scenes were with Chris, an actor that I’ve admired for a long time, so it was great getting to grips with the material with him, even though the subject matter was sometimes very dark.” “My primary concern was with making Jamal simply a man with a very strong, very specific belief system. The last thing I wanted to do was just to portray a monster. Hopefully that came across. There but for the grace of God go I, and all that.” “Getting taken down by LL Cool J was a mixed blessing; the pro was that LL is a hero of mine, I’ve been a fan of his music for years. The con was that he’s built like a stack of canon balls - he basically has 2 sets of shoulders - and that guy coming at you, gun blazing, is next level sh*t!
