Japan Tsunami Appeal
Adam was asked by See The Difference to shoot this insert for the charity, MapAction, which provides real-time maps in areas of the world that have undergone natural disasters. These maps are often people’s best hope of getting rescued and of receiving aid after cataclysmic events, such as the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Adam has deep respect for the ‘Fukushima Fifty’ who are a team of about 180 Japanese technicians who have volunteered to do all that they can to stabilize the ruptured nuclear power plants in Fukushima, even though their exposure to the radiation is likely, ultimately, to be lethal.
“The bravery and selflessness of these men is deeply inspiring, not only to Japan, but to all of us. They embody the qualities that are best about the human race in a time that is particularly dark. They’re true role-models,” Adam said.
